Residents may be required to take initial actions during an emergency. Please report all ongoing issues immediately.

Water Leak:

  • Place a bucket under intermittent water leak and temporarily minimize water usage

  • Shut a valve to an area where water is flowing. Please identify valves under sinks, behind toilets, and around water heaters. If you are unsure, please contact Mick's Properties for guidance.

Partial or Full Power Outage:

  • Identify circuit breaker box location.

  • Check for tripped breakers and reset if applicable. Reset a tripped breaker by moving switch to "OFF," waiting 10 seconds, and then moving the switch to "ON."

  • Check with your electric service provider for outages.

Furnace Outage:

  • Check furnace filter, if accessible.

  • Check batteries in thermostat, if applicable.

  • Check circuit breaker box for power, if accessible.

  • Use space heater as needed until maintenance can respond within 24-48 hours, depending on temperatures and availability. Tenants must supply a space heater as needed for comfort.

Below 15 degree weather - Prevent Frozen Pipes:

  • Keep water on and dripping slowly in faucets.

  • Keep cabinets below sinks open for air flow

  • Keep thermostat set to a minimum of 55 degrees.

Moisture: Weather conditions such as snow and rain, lack of airflow around excessive belongings, and other unusual or tenant-caused conditions may cause excess moisture in areas of your apartment. Residents must supply a dehumidifer to prevent surface mold in areas of concern. Please report areas of excessive, uncontrollable moisture for maintenance to address.
